Rental HOURS
Rentals will be available for 2023/24 once our kiosk staff is on site at the main trailhead. Our kiosk opening is planned for Dec 01, 2023. Watch our social media sites for confirmation. Our trails are open and day passes can always be purchased online.
Rental pick up must happen during kiosk hours.
Rental returns can happen when the kiosk is closed.

Trail Fees Always Apply
Outside of kiosk hours, purchase your pass online or use the cash drop boxes at the trailheads. At the main trailhead for the lower trails network, look for the big red mailbox by the kiosk. At the biathlon trailhead, look for the black dropbox by the trails map. To pay by credit card, use the codes posted at the kiosk and biathlon trailhead to access our online sales site.
Rental EQUIPMENT
As our kiosk has closed for the 2022/23 season, rentals are no longer available. Our trails remain open and day passes can be purchased online.
Black Jack offers full rentals at the trailhead kiosk, including skis, boots, and poles for skate skiing and classic skiing.
The kiosk is usually staffed everyday from 9am to 2pm. For pick-up of rental equipment, arrive at the kiosk half an hour before closing.
Large groups (6+) should arrive earlier to be sure we can get your group set up with gear.
Returns can be made outside of kiosk hours.
Weekends and holidays can be busy times for rentals. We recommend arriving well before the time that you plan to ski to be sure that we can help you get set up with your rental gear in time.
Caution that on especially busy days, we cannot guarantee that we will have equipment in your size.
Rentals are for a 24-hour period so you can get a couple good skis in! To make sure our staff is around to help, call ahead at 250-362-7164.
Bringing your own boots?
Our rental skis have Salomon SNS bindings that require SNS boots.
If you have NNN boots or Salomon Prolink boots, they will not fit the SNS bindings on our rental skis.

WHERE TO SKI WITH RENTAL GEAR
Our rental gear is primarily provided for use on our amazing trail network at Black Jack. You are welcome to start skiing right from the kiosk, or you may prefer to drive up Highway 3B to the trails at the biathlon trailhead. IYou can find our grooming report online and posted by the kiosk. You are also welcome to ask our kiosk staff for recommended trails at Black Jack. The Castlegar Nordic Ski Club has a fantastic network of classic ski trails and renters may also choose to use our gear at this neighbouring club.
Our rental gear is for groomed and maintained trail networks and is NOT suitable for use at the Nancy Greene summit.
For ski sales and service, please visit Gerick Cycle & Sports in Trail, just 10 minutes from Rossland. They are great supporters of the club and have a good selection of ski gear and offer great service.
