Heads up to anyone that is heading out on hemlock trail in the coming weeks.
The slash piles that were left as a result of the logging done on hemlock last year will be burnt soon (as early as this week). Please stay clear of the area if you see they’re being burnt.
BC timber sales staff will be conducting the burning. The burning will only occur when the weather conditions are correct and will be done when the venting index ensures there will be minimum smoke.
They will also have machinery out there when burning occurs to make sure the fire is kept contained and is fully out once the burning is complete.
BC timber sales will also be replacing a few culverts to help with drainage on hemlock which should help make the skiing experience even better next year.
