These policies have been adhered to in the past.
As budgeting permits, we intend to make these annual financial and policy commitments in the same or similar fashion each year.
1.) Club Support of high end skiers: Decided that a Provincial or higher level team member should get a free BJSC Season membership. (passed Jan 2001)
2.) Black Jack will grant $500 per year for each club member who is selected to the Provincial Cross country ski team. (Passed Nov 2004)
3.) Black Jack will grant $1,000 per year for each club member who is selected to the National cross country ski team. (passed Oct 2002)
4.) Volunteer coaches who have demonstrated commitment to club programs, or who agree to volunteer time in the current or upcoming season, will be reimbursed for coaching clinics fees.(Passed Nov 2003)
5.) Volunteer officials, who have demonstrated a commitment to officiating at club races or agree to volunteer time in the current or upcoming season, will be reimbursed for officials’ clinic fees. (Passed Nov 2003)
6.) Black Jack will consider providing lifetime memberships or annual season pass memberships for anyone dedicated to helping the club achieve its goals or improving the club facilities. Such an honor will be brought up via a motion and passed by the executive after suitable discussion and justification of the recipient. (passed Dec 2003)
7.) First time skiers- when skiing with an independent, but club approved qualified coach may have a one time trail fee discount of $4. (Passed Feb 2005)
8.) Qualified independent instructors (Need definition of qualified. Min level 1 coaching certification) may place a sign at the trail head offering their services. Qualifications of any independent coach must be posted on the board and on file with the kiosk. (Passed March 2005)
9.) As a gesture of community support, Black Jack will donate a ski pass for local schools’ fundraisers upon request. (Passed Dec 2004)
10.) As a gesture of community support, Black Jack will give patients of the Daly Pavilion free skiing 2 or 3 times per year as organized and endorsed by the Pavilion staff. (passed April 2005)
11.) Exec formulated policy on free lance coaches for Master Skier program. (see Policy details: Master’s Program.doc. passed Aug 2005)
12.) As a gesture of goodwill, Exec agreed to contact, in advance any neighbor who might be impacted by our trail construction before work begins. (Aug 2005)
13.) BJSC members who are on the Canadian Olympic Team will be given a lifetime pass. (Dec 2006)
14.) Group skier policy: $2 for multi-visit school groups (e.g. French School), $4 for one-time school/clubs. A DAY group of adults is 10 or more and the fee has to be paid for the entire group. The day fee will be $10 per adult, which includes GST. A NIGHT group of adults is 6 or more and the fee has to be paid for the entire group. The night fee will be $7 per adult, which includes GST. 15.) Season Pass Refund Policy: Any member injured may submit a request in writing for a refund of 75% of their individual pass price by Dec 31st. A doctor’s note is required. After Dec 31st there will be no refund.
16.) Club email list: The club e-mail distribution list will be used only for club-related communication. (Nov 2012) Updated as of November 2012
