It was -6 deg. C and humid for today's 3.75 k skate prologue in Oberhof, Germany. It was a good start for Canada with George Grey finishing .2 seconds ahead of Alex Harvey as they finished in 17th and 18th positions, appoximately 13 seconds from first. Devon Kershaw finished 37th - just 4 seconds later, and Ivan Babikov was 50th.  There were 88 starters.

Tomorrow features the 10 and 15k classic events.
